Jennifer Chivas RN, BSN, IBCLC
Jennifer was born and raised in Detroit Michigan where she earned her Bachelors in Nursing at the University of Detroit Mercy.  She spent the first 18 years of her career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse where she was able to grow in her ability to serve new families.  She birthed three beautiful children of her own and raised her family in the city of South Lyon. As she grew in her career, opportunities to expand her expertise became available.  With the support and encouragement of her peers and Ascension Health she became IBCLC certified and was the lead in Providence Parks’ journey to becoming a Baby Friendly facility.  Within this journey she practiced with two physicians in an outpatient breastfeeding clinic serving over 15 moms and babies each week, she organized and supported her organizations support group, ‘The Lactation Station’ and she continued her work as an acute care RN, IBCLC working with moms and their newborns.  During her seven years in Michigan as an IBCLC she helped three nurses achieve their IBCLC certification and trained her entire labor and delivery unit, nurses and physicians on supporting the breastfeeding dyad.  Jennifers’ family recently relocated to Lakewood Ranch Florida to support her husbands’ business expansion.  Once settled, she began her new journey discovering the breastfeeding needs in her area.  Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital offered her an opportunity to consult their acute and chronic patients on a per diem schedule allowing Jennifer to develop her own consulting business.  She comes to the communities of Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Bradenton, Myakka and Sarasota with loving arms using evidenced based care to help breastfeeding families achieve their goals.
