Welcome to Lakewood Ranch Lactation! My name is Jennifer Chivas, also known as The Booby Boss! I am an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and owner of Lakewood Ranch Lactation. My goal is to support mother baby dyads with all of their breastfeeding needs. I have partnered with “The Booby Bunch” to extend the best breastfeeding services in the gulf coast area of Florida. Yes! We take many forms of insurance. Once you book your appointment details about verifying insurance will be described. For in office visits choose the schedule button below or visit my services page for virtual or in home consults. All appointments are scheduled in advance. Beyond the Birth- SRQ, my support group, is currently on hold due to COVID-19. Once our community feels safe to gather again it will be a social time for mothers to ask questions or obtain infant weights pre/post breastfeeding in a group setting.

Virtual appointments now available and recommended for all routine visits, for more complicated situations where a hands on assessment is needed in home visits using CDC guidelines are allowed and recommended. Getting the care you need to successfully breastfeed remains a priority during this time.

Hours available for consultations are Monday-Sunday 9am-8pm. Now accepting some insurances, please inquire when scheduling an appointment, otherwise a super bill for self-pay will be provided. All forms of payment accepted.

What is an IBCLC?


The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential identifies a knowledgeable and experienced member of the maternal-child health team who has specialized clinical skills in breastfeeding management and care. The IBLCE is currently the only credentialing agency that offers a board certification in breastfeeding medicine in lactation consulting globally. IBCLCs have passed a rigorous examination that demonstrates the ability to provide competent, comprehensive lactation and breastfeeding care.
